Would It Be The End Of Xbox If Apple Produces TV?

I just wrote an article regarding market share in the smart phone market and how hard it is. Well, spare a thought for the console manufacturers. For them, it’s even more cutthroat with the vast majority of them actually losing money.

If a game-enabled Apple set-top box or HDTV were produced, would that be the death of popular gaming on consoles as we know it? I mean, it’s an interesting question isn’t it?

No one could have predicted just how popular the tablet market would become where it pretty ,much eats into the both PC and laptop markets. In fact, it has absolutely obliterated the notebook market. If Apple produced a HDTV, how long would it be until cheaper rival manufacturers (particularly from China) started to jump on that bandwagon.

The chap that founded Microsoft’s Xbox Nat Brown, wrote an article on his blog entitled “Stupid, Stupid Xbox!” where he mentions the lack of third party game developers to actually make any decent money.

Nate said: “Apple, if it chooses to do so, will simply kill Playstation, Wii U, and Xbox by introducing an open 30 per cent cut app/game ecosystem for Apple TV,” wrote Brown.

Would you trade in your Xbox for one of these TV’s or consoles? Were you one of those people that swore you’d never buy a mobile and could never consider yourself purchasing a tablet. Yep, I was one of those people, oh so long ago. I promised I wouldn’t succumb and now I join the ranks of converts in the digital space.

I must admit, I do wonder if the console manufacturers have actually spared a thought as to what would happen if we either played games on our HDTV’s or even played games through our mobile phones and projected through the TV. Is really that far away? I really don’t think so.

I set up Hot Deals Monster because I was frustrated with the lack of deals specifically targeted to Men. I wasn't interested in cheap nappies or 10p off my next box of cornflakes. I wanted real, interesting deals that would genuinely help and save money for the male consumer.
