LoveFilm Goes HD On Sony Devices And Signs New Deal With BBC

LoveFilm’s service was already hugely on the BBC and it has now signed a new ”enhanced content deal” to start streaming the likes of The Office and Luther.

The partnership has gone very well so far where the Amazon owned-company has been able to grab some seriously premium content from from the BBC and will stream it via its LoveFilm Instant service.

LoveFilm has also been busy by allowing the likes of Sony to stream the high definition service to Sony Blu-ray players and TV’s. At a time when supermarkets are looking to muscle in on it’s space, a lot of the older and more established players like Netflix and LoveFilm our ramping up their efforts to form some strong strategic alliances and cement whatever market share they have in this space.

LoveFilm already streams a wide variety of BBC series such as Planet Earth, Ashes to AshesSpooks, Doctor Who and Whitechapel. So, with new content to be added such as Ricky Gervais comedies The Office and Extras as well as hit shows such as Idris Elba-starring Luther, there’s plenty of new content coming online for LoveFilm subscribers.

“This new deal will see more gripping award-winning dramas and landmark documentaries added to the service bringing some of the very best in UK television to LoveFilm’s subscribers.”
